Just 2 teachers teaching 150 students at LoC school

MENDHAR, Nov 15: The education of students is being affected due to shortage of teachers in a Govt school located in Sagra village along the Indo-Pakistan Line of Control in Mendhar Sub-Division of Poonch district.
According to reports, the total number of students studying in Middle School Chowki in Sagra is 150, while there are just two teachers posted there against the sanctioned strength of eight.
Mustafa Khatana, a local villager said that the school building is also in a dilapidated condition. Due to shortage of teachers, the children are facing troubles and many obstacles in their studies.
They said that before the ceasefire, this area was affected by the shelling of Pakistan, in which education of the students was greatly affected and after the ceasefire there was an expectation that the children would study well but the lack of teachers in the school remained a problem for the locals of the area.
The LoC villagers have urged the Director School Education Jammu and District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch that the shortage of teachers in the school should be removed so that our children could get proper education.
When contacted to, SDM Mendhar Jangir Khan, he said that this matter has been brought to my notice by the locals of Sagara Village, while talking to the Chief Education Officer Poonch regarding this matter, Soon teachers will be posted there SDM said.
