JAMMU, May 11: President of India has appointed Justice Alok Aradhe as Chief Justice of J&K High Court consequent upon the appointment of Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir as Chief Justices of Manipur and Meghalaya High Courts respectively.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 100 of the Constitution of J&K, the President has appointed Justice Alok Aradhe, senior most Judge of the J&K High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court”, read the notification issued by Ministry of Law and Justice.
Born on April 13, 1964, Justice Alok Aradhe was enrolled as Advocate on July 12, 1988 and designated as Senior Advocate in April 2007. He was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2009 and Permanent Judge on February 15, 2011.
He was transferred to High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on September 16, 2016 and took oath of office on September 20, 2016.
