SRINAGAR, Apr 15: Justice Puneet Gupta, Judge High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladkah who is also Administrative Judge for District Shopian today inspected District Court Complex (DCC) Shopian and took stock of various activities there.
On his arrival at the District Court Complex, Justice Gupta was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honor. He inspected District Court Shopian and reviewed the working of the District Judiciary.
He emphasized the need to ensure fair and speedy disposal of cases with priority to the old cases. He also interacted with the Members of the Bar, who projected various demands before him. The Administrative Judge assured the Members of the Bar that their genuine demands will be addressed without any delay.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Gupta appreciated the warm welcome and assured all possible help within the bounds of laws. He further said that better facilities for litigants, lawyers and Judges are the need of the hour and all steps required to ensure justice at doorstep shall be taken up.
Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Registrar Judicial High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh at Srinagar, SSP Shopian and Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian were also present during the inspection.
Justice Gupta also interacted with the District Administration with regard to infrastructural requirements of the newly under construction Court Building at District Shopian.
He also had a brief interaction with Judicial Officers at the District Headquarter and took stock of problems faced by the judicial officers and employees posted in District Court Shopian.
Earlier, Raiz-ul-Haq Mirza, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Shopian gave a brief presentation regarding the working of the District Judiciary and the steps taken to ensure fair and speedy disposal of cases as well as the infrastructural requirements of the District.
At the same time, the Administrative Judge Shopian directed the District Legal Service Authority to organize an awareness programme in order to spread firsthand knowledge with regard to Government schemes. He stated that victim compensation cases be forwarded to the Member Secretary without any delay.
