KUPWARA, June 11: Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Judge High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, who is also Administrative Judge for District Kupwara today had an extensive tour of Kupwara district during which he took stock of Judiciary profile of Kupwara district.
During the visit, Justice Wani visited Additional Sessions Court Handwara, where he was given guard of honour.
He was accompanied by Principal District & Session Judge Kupwara, Tasleem Arief; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir; SP Handwara, Sheema Nabi; ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; CJM Handwara, Khurshid-ul-Islam; Munsif Handwara, Adnan Manzoor and President Bar Association, Abdul Rasheed Lone.
Justice Wani inspected Court Complex Handwara and reviewed the functioning of the Court. He inspected construction work of Additional District & Sessions Judge Court Complex at Handwara which is coming up at a cost of Rs.1373.81 lakh. He also inspected the architect design of the building and was briefed about layout and upcoming facilities of the Court complex.
Justice Wani had a brief meeting with the Principal District & Session Judge, DC Kupwara and President Bar Association and resolved various issues put forth by the Bar president.
He asked Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for construction of pathway, construction of separate washroom for ladies and renovation of existing washrooms.
The Deputy Commissioner assured Justice that the needful will be done and directed concerned Executive Engineer to submit DPRs for construction of pathway and washrooms.
He also addressed the members of Bar Association Handwara and said that all the issues relating to scarcity of accommodation and staff would be resolved in a time bound manner. He said appointment of new Munisifs is expected which will resolve the issue of scarcity of Judicial Magistrates.
Regarding completion of Court Complex Handwara, he said the matter would be taken up with higher authorities for release of funds.
Justice Wani also visited District Court Complex Kupwara and inspected under construction District Court Complex Kupwara coming up at a cost of Rs.1257.82 lakh.
The President, Bar Association submitted a charter of demands for which Justice assured them that the demands shall be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
