JAMMU, Oct 27: In a grand function organized by the Department of Law, University of Jammu (JU), Prof K L Bhatia’s book titled “Law and Justice: A Festschrift in the Honour of Prof KL Bhatia” was released by Sanjeev Kumar Shukla, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, who graced the occasion as chief guest.
In his address to the gathering, Justice Sanjeev Kumar Shukla stressed on more interaction between the law department and judiciary. His motivated the students for sincere efforts in the field of law.
In his presidential address, Prof Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor of JU said that the book “Law and Justice: A Festschrift in the Honour of Prof KL Bhatia” serves as a testament to Prof Bhatia’s remarkable journey in the world of law, and the book release ceremony was a poignant reminder of the profound impact he has had on the academic and legal community.
The book has been edited by eminent scholars that include Prof Sanjay Gupta, Dr Komilla Aggarwal Bhatia and Dr Raj K Sandhu.
Earlier, Prof Satinder Kumar, Head and Dean of the Faculty of Law, set the tone for the event with a warm and welcoming address while Dr Navdeep Kour Sasan delivered a brief but illuminating introduction of Prof KL Bhatia, providing insight into the professor’s remarkable career and its far-reaching impact on the world of law.
Prof Bhatia himself shared his life experiences and insights, leaving the audience captivated by his wisdom and passion.
Prof Sanjay Gupta, one of the editors of the book, concluded the event with a formal vote of thanks.
The program was conducted by Dr Raj K Sandhu, one of the editors of the book.
