Justice Tashi visits Leh; inspects constt work of new court complex

LEH, May 14: Justice Tashi Rabstan, senior most Judge of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Administrative Judge for District Leh, Chairman Mediation and Conciliation Committee High Court of J&K and Ladakh, and Chairman Building Infrastructure Committee for Sub-ordinate Courts of Ladakh, visited district Leh where he inspected construction work of the new court complex.
During his 3-day visit to Leh district, Justice Tashi was the chief guest in the Plantation Drive organized by DLSA Leh, at New Court Complex Melong Thang, Leh. Present on the occasion were Law Secretary, Ladakh, Michael M D’Souza, Member Secretary LLSA, Principal District and Sessions Judge Leh, Spalzes Angmo, CJM Leh, Tsewang Phuntsog, Secretary DLSA Leh/Special Mobile Magistrate Leh, Phuntsog Angmo, Munsiff Nubra, Chemit Yurgyal, Munsiff Khaltsi, Wangyal Tsering, SE, Mutalib, president Bar Association Leh, Mohd Shafi and Bar members, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel and Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Panel Lawyers and PLVs.
After the plantation drive, Justice Tashi also inspected the ongoing construction work of the new Court Complex at Melong Thang and gave on the spot directions for early completion of the ongoing work. In the afternoon, he attended as chief guest a legal awareness programme at Conference Hall Leh. Resource person on the occasion were Advocate Mohd Ramzan and Dr Tundup Tsewang.
In his keynote address, Justice Tashi stressed upon taking up mediation for resolution of all kinds of disputes, whether or not the matter is pending in the Court or not. He stressed upon the community members present on the occasion to conduct mediation taking into consideration the various ways and methods of mediation which is more effective and has long run effect.
In the evening, Justice Tashi also inspected Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan at Leh along with DC Leh Santosh Sukhdev and District Social Welfare Officer Leh and Judicial Officers of District Leh and interacted with the children in those institutes and took stock of the infrastructure and other needs of the Institute.
