JAMMU, Oct 27: The senior most Judge of State High Court, Justice Virender Singh, who has been elevated as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, will take oath on November 1, 2014.
Meanwhile, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu accorded farewell to Justice Virender Singh on his transfer to Jharkhand High Court as Chief Justice.
Justice Virender Singh, keeping in view the catastrophe caused by the floods in the State, had shown his unwillingness to take any farewell party and instead chose to visit Bar Room, High Court complex for a cup of tea in the lunch break.
President J&K High Court Bar Association, while appreciating the humane approach in dispensation of justice in the past 7 and half years adopted by Justice Singh, described him a person of integrity and justice loving.
While recalling his time spent in the State High Court, Justice Singh, appreciated the role of advocates and Judges in maintaining a cordial relationship of bench and Bar and its role in justice dispensation to the most deserving and poor people of the far flung and remote areas.
