JAMMU, Nov 12: First Puisne Judge of J&K High Court Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the State Legal Service Authority.
According to the notification, State Government in consultation with Chief Justice of J&K High Court has nominated Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir as Executive Chairman of the State Legal Service Authority.
Born on May 28, 1957 at village Rajpora in Pulwama district, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir did his LLB from Kashmir University and then joined the Bar. He practised as Advocate from 1981 to 1993 and appointed as District and Sessions Judge on May 27, 1993.
He remained posted as Principal District and Sessions Judge, Baramulla, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Anantnag, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Special Judge, Anti Corruption, Kashmir, Registrar General High Court of J&K and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar.
He was elevated as Additional Judge of High Court on November 23, 2007 and appointed as permanent Judge of High Court on October 1, 2009.
