REASI, Sept 3: Police arrested three drug peddlers including a juvenile along with 1.8 kilograms cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BD-8234 near Balni Check Post Katra.
During checking, police team recovered 1.80 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the two persons including a juvenile riding on the motorcycle and arrested them.
The arrested person has been identified as Sajjad Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Anji- Kayala District Reasi. The identity of the juvenile could not be disclosed as per law.
A case under FIR Number 137/2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Katra Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Katra Inspector Sunil Sharma and assisted by Incharge Police Post Banganga Inspector Varinder Singh and Incharge TAG Katra SI Suman Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh, SP Katra Amit Bhasin and SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station laid a naka near BC Road and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 196 grams poppy straw and 31 grams cannabis and arrested the person, who is driver by profession.
The arrested person has been identified as Bodh Raj, son of Pyare Lal, a resident of Sarwal, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 30/2020 under Section 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered by Bus Stand Police Station and investigation started.
