Juvenile thief held, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Oct 3: Police in Jammu’s Bishnah area claimed today they have arrested a juvenile thief and recovered from his possession a stolen purse and some debit/credit cards.
A police official said on October 2, one Angad Raj son of Girdhari Lal of Palli Morh, tehsil Bishnah, lodged a written complaint with Police Station Bishnah, stating therein that some unidentified people broke open the windows of his car and ran away with his purse containing some Debit/Credit cards along with a cash of Rs 5000.
On this, the police official said, a case FIR number 156/2024 under section 305(C) BNS was registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, he said, designated team of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO concerned apprehended a juvenile suspect using human and technical leads.
He said during sustained questioning, the suspected individual confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen purse along with the debit/credit cards was recovered.
Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police official.
