JAMMU, Feb 13: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration demanding AIIMS OPD at Government Medical College (GMC) and Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Jammu.
The protest was led by JWAM leader, Sunil Dimple who also demanded ban on private practice of doctors working in Government hospitals.
He alleged that poor medical treatment is provided in Government hospitals while there are fast growing private clinics of sex determination of unborn babies.
The protesters also condemned the supply of alleged spurious drugs in Government hospitals and claimed that no life saving drugs is available at Government hospitals.
Addressing the protester Dimple said that concerned authorities at GMC, Super Specialty Hospital and Director Health Services paid no heed to the orders of Lieutenant Governor (LG), G.C Murmu and the Financial Health Commissioner regarding submission of a report to the LG on banning of private practice of doctors working in Government hospitals.
