JAMMU, Mar 29: A protest demonstration was held today at High Court Road Janipur, against the failure of the Government in providing basic amenities to the people of Jammu West Assembly Constituency.
Large number of prominent citizens, irate traders and youth under the leadership of Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) took to the roads of Old Janipur area raising slogans against PWD, R&B, ERA and JMC for alleged swindling of funds worth crores.
Addressing the protestors, Dimple demanded to hold a CBI enquiry of the ongoing work of ERA, alleging all the engineers of the ERA are hand in glove with the contractors and are lavishly wasting the money.
He also demanded immediate blacktopping of roads, and adequate supply of drinking water and power.
JWAM president also urged the Government to construct flyovers at Rehari Chungi and Jewel Chowk to solve the traffic problem.
