JWAM holds protest dharna against PHE, disrupts traffic

JAMMU, Sept 2:    The residents of  Jammu West constituency raised slogans and disrupted traffic on Amphalla-Janipur High Court Road, here today.
The protesters were led by Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West  Assembly Movement against the PHE Ministry for shelving the Chenab Water Supply Project. He said there was acute scarcity of the drinking water in Jammu city and the West Assembly constituency in particular.
Dimple urged the State Government to initiate Crime Branch Investigation for the utilization of the funds allocated to Jammu city and West Assembly constituency, where no development work is visible on the ground in the last six years.
He demanded “totally free of cost” drinking water to be provided to the people of the State.
Dimple urged upon the Government to immediately call the PHE Leaders, employees and resolve the issue and urged the Government to regularize all the daily wagers.
