JAMMU, Dec 16: Jammu, West Assembly Movement today take out a protest rally from High Court Road, Janipur to Amphalla against the failure of the Government to solve the rising traffic problem in Jammu city, particularly in Jammu West constituency.
The activists of JWAM under the leadership of their president, Sunil Dimple, disrupted vehicular traffic at many places. They were demanding Government to solve the traffic problem of the Jammu city.
Addressing the JWAM activists, Dimple said Governor NN Vohra in his address to the State in 2011 had assured the people that the Government will start the work on the Rehari Chungi, Jewel Chowk flyovers and Chenab Water Supply Project very soon, but now the Government is betraying people of the Jammu region by putting all these dream projects in cold storage.
Dimple appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene into the matter and issue necessary directions to the Government to start work on these projects.
He also demanded the resignations of the sitting MLAs and the MPs, who, he alleged, are sitting as mute spectators instead of highlighting the issues in the State Assembly and Parliament.
Dimple alleged that Government has no traffic mobile plan for Jammu city and is misleading the people with hollow assurances.
Dimple also raised the issue of construction of circular roads and widening of road from Jewel Chowk to Purkhoo-Domana.
