JAMMU, Feb 2: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) activists led by president Sunil Dimple took out a protest march and burnt copies of the speech of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti against, what they called, murder of democracy in State Legislature.
Addressing the activists Dimple said declaring the Assembly Session ‘sine die ‘ in the middle of the session was murder of democracy. He added that it would be in the best interests of the people of Jammu that Governor Rule is imposed in the State as the Government has utterly failed to come upto the expectations of the people.
The activists also took strong exception to speech of the Chief Minister on Article 370 and in protest burnt copies of the same. He said the BJP Ministers and legislators should clear their stand on the remarks made by the Chief Minister in the Assembly.
The JWAM leader also castigated the legislators from Jammu province for their failure to project demands of common people of Jammu region who were confronted with various difficulties and hardships.
Flaying the Government for acute scarcity of drinking water, erratic electricity supply and shortage of ration in Government run depots, Dimple also demanded bifurcation of Jammu West Assembly constituency in to two segments for smooth and overall development of this vast area. Various other long pending demands were also voiced in the rally.
Prominent persons in the rally included Harbans Tondon, Madan Lal, D N Magotra, Vijay Khajuria, Ram Kapoor, Sat Pal Kohli, Kulwant Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Vicky, Dev Raj, Mukesh, Babbu, Golu Singh, Ashok Khanna etc.
