JAMMU, June 5: Activists of Jammu  West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held demonstrations and blocked  Janipur-High Court road for one hour against scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and acute scarcity of drinking water in Jammu region particularly the West Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the protestors, JWAM president,  Sunil Dimple, held the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responsible for failure of the PDD Ministry in providing uninterrupted power supply in the Jammu city, as he did nothing to solve the power crises in his four and half year tenure.
Sunil Dimple demanded Omar Abdullah to take up matter with the Central Government.
As  the river Tawi is not meeting the water requirement of the people of the Jammu city, the work on the supply of water from River Chenab Project from Akhnoor  to Jammu city should be started, he asserted.
Dimple demanded for the purchase of more water tankers for the Jammu city as he maintained that the present number of the tankers is not sufficient.
