JAMMU, Mar 16: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest demonstration on the foundation day of Jammu & Kashmir State and burnt the copies of 2018 calendar for non-declaration of State holiday on the birth anniversary of the Mahraja Hari Singh ji.
Led by Sunil Dimple, JWAM president, scores of activists assembled at New Plot on Janipur road and raised slogans against the BJP, which is a part of the present Government in the State, for its failure to declare gazette holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, who made J&K the integral part of India.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple alleged that this is shame for the BJP Deputy CM, BJP ministers, MLAs and MLC’s. He alleged that BJP which is in the Government, took no stand to get declare holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.
He also criticized the BJP and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for being mum on the NGT orders on our holy pilgrimages of Amarnath and Vaishno Devi. He said as Amarnath Yatra is starting soon, NGT orders are not acceptable to the Hindus of the country. “We will call for the ‘Jammu Band’ if these orders not completely withdrawn”, he added.
Dimple also criticized the Mehbooba Mufti Government for denying minority status to Hindus, who are minority in J&K and favouring minority benefits for the majority community. He demanded the Government to grant minority status to Hindus of the State.
