JAMMU, Aug 28: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest at New Plot over scarcity of drinking water.
While addressing the protesting people, JWAM president, Sunil Dimple, alleged that the whole West Constituency is facing acute scarcity of drinking water. He said that for last three days, no supply of water was made by the authorities concerned in New Plot area and when residents went to PHE sub-station New Plot, there was no employee available to listen to their problems.
Dimple alleged that the ERA department’s substandard work has multiplied the problems of the people, as huge leakages due to old water connections damaged by ERA have created huge scarcity of drinking water.
He said the water pressure is being supplied in the locality after a gap of three to four days and pressure of water is so low that one cannot fill even the buckets what to say of water tank. Dimple demanded immediate functioning of the already constructed tube well at New Plot near State Motor Garage.
