JAMMU, Dec 16: Activists of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) here today staged a protest demonstration against the traffic problem in the city.
Leading the protest Sunil Dimple, JWAM president demanded construction of ring road from Ambphalla to Akhnoor via Janipur and start of metro train on the same route apart from construction of flyovers between Rehari Chungi and Jewal Chowk to lessen the traffic problem in the city.
He also demanded that heavy fines under new MV Act should be lowered.
The JWAM leader also demanded construction of parking places in Jammu and alleged that there is no traffic mobility plan in the Jammu city.
He further alleged that the proposed widening of Amphalla-Janipur road from both sides will not solve the traffic problem but will hit the livelihood of many people running business organizations on both sides of the road.
Ramesh Chander Bali, Ranjeet Sharma, Mohd Ashraf, Habib Ullaha, Raman Bakshi, Rakesh Nanda and others were also present in the protest.
