JAMMU, May 8: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest against the State Government for deteriorating condition of city roads and worst traffic scenario in Jammu.
Raising slogans against the Government, activists of JWAM said that condition of the roads of the West constituency like Janipur-High Court road and internal roads in New Plot, Sarwal, Rehari, Bakshi Nagar and Talab Tillo is in worst condition for last two years but authorities concerned are sleeping over the issue.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple, president, JWAM, alleged that the BJP-PDP Government, ERA and PWD R&B Ministry have totally failed to solve the traffic problem in the Jammu city. Dimple urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to make Jammu a smart city and solve its traffic problem.
He said that since the BJP-PDP Government has taken charge, no new project has been started and the whole Jammu West constituency has been converted into slum. He said that almost all the roads in West constituency are damaged and dust erupted due to plying of vehicles on these roads are causing pollution, damaging goods of shopkeepers causing breathing problems in people.
Dimple threatened of starting a Jan Andolan if full black topping work of the West constituency roads is not done immediately. He demanded that a flyover be constructed from Rehari to Jewel to solve traffic problems to some extent.
