JAMMU, Mar 12: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today held a protest rally here at New Plot on Janipur-High Court road, asserting the Government to either grant district status to Jammu West constituency or bifurcate it into two Assembly constituencies.
Addressing the protesters, JWAM president, Sunil Dimple said that Jammu West is the largest constituency of the State but there is no development in the constituency. He said that no development has taken place in the constituency in the last 2 years, as the BJP MLA is silent on this aspect. He alleged that BJP is responsible for discrimination with the Jammu people and demanded immediate steps to make Jammu a Smart City.
Dimple demanded Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and BJP-PDP Government for grant of “district status” or bifurcation of the Jammu West Assembly constituency into two Assembly segments and the implementation of the delimitation commission.
On alleged directions of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to the concerned officials that they shall not disturb and dislocate an encroacher of the tribal population occupying State and Forest land in Jammu, Dimple threatened of ‘Jammu Band’. He said there is a match fixing between the PDP, BJP on the demography change. He said that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti wants the islamicization of the State by ignoring Hindus and is conspiring to weaken the Indian hold on the J&K.
Dimple appealed the political parties, Bar, Chamber, transporters, opposition parties and all the social organizations to come on one platform from Lakhanpur to Banihal and from Poonch to Doda to get ready for the “Jammu band” and not allow the BJP-PDP Government to create Kashmir like situation in the Jammu region.
