JWAM warns of Jammu Bandh on road tax issue

JAMMU, Apr 10: Strong protest demonstration was held today under the leadership of Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement against the State Government and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and demanded to stop the road tax on vehicles plying on Jammu-Udhampur stretch, from the people, pilgrims, tourists and on the transporters.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple threatened to call for “Jammu Bandh” in case this road tax of NHAI is not stopped by the Government.
He has threatened to start State wide agitation against this road tax.
Dimple urged upon the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed to immediately stop this “black law”, as the road tax has put an additional burden on commuters, pilgrims and tourists.
Dimple gave ultimatum to PWD (R&B), ERA, PHE and JMC to stop the patch work and start the black topping work immediately in Jammu City.
Sunil Dimple appealed all the organizations to come forward to oppose this road tax of the NHAI and come on roads and get ready for mass agitation and “Jammu bandh”.
Others present were Ravinder Mishra, Dr Sham Saroop, Shashi Thappa, Ashok Koul, Harbans Tondon, Som Nath, Kulwant Sharma, Dev Raj, Vijay Sharma, Kapil Singh, Brij Sharma, Vipan, Mukesh and Rakesh.
