JWF chairman calls on DGP Dilbag Singh

JAMMU, Oct 17: Jammu Warriors Front (JWF) Chairman, Rajesh Gupta, called on Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh here today and discussed range of issues with the latter including, policing, security, drugs, and traffic violations.
Appreciating the functioning of J&K Police, Gupta stated that comprehensive efforts to bolster security have yielded remarkable results in region.
On raising the issue of drug menace with the DGP, Gupta said in a statement that the latter described drugs as a threat bigger than the militancy.
According to him, DGP claimed that the Pakistani agencies, which were earlier in the business of terrorism, have taken it up as a matter of policy to use drugs to fund terror in the region.
He claimed that the DGP promised to take on the drug related challenges the way the problem of militancy was dealt with in Jammu and Kashmir.
Gupta also raised with the DGP the issue of connivance of some police officers with the criminal to cause harm to the society. He wished that such elements and checked and taken care of so that the general public don’t suffer.
The DGP gave a patient hearing to the JWF leader and assured to look into all the issues raised by him.
