JAMMU, Sept 17: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Jyoti Devi of Ward number 53 here today inaugurated the construction work of a tube-well near Bala Pritam Gurudwara, Sector-3 in Trikuta Nagar area.
Prominent persons from the area who attended the inauguration ceremony were Pummy Bawa, K.D Sharma, Roop Krishan Kokroo, Ramesh Chander, Sham Lal, Ganesh Nagar, S.K Jolly, S.K Jain, Jitender Sharma and others.
A handout stated that people of the area were suffering due to acute water crisis in the area for the last many years and the tube-well, work on which started today with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 72 lakh will resolve the problem to a large extent on completion.
Speaking on the occasion Jyoti Devi said that remaining works of the Ward shall also be completed soon.
She asked the people of her Ward to stop throwing garbage here and there and use services of door-to-door moving autos for garbage disposal.
