K oil black marketing racket busted, 4 held

JAMMU, Nov 12: Pacca Danga police busted a racket involved in black marketing of kerosene oil meant for public distribution and seized 600 litres of it.
A police spokesman said that, on a tip off, police party from Pacca Danga Police Station conducted a raid in Old Rehari area and arrested four black marketers while pilfering kerosene oil meant for public distribution from tanker bearing registration number JK02R-7675.
Six hundred litres of CAPD kerosene oil was seized from the spot, he said, adding that the black marketers have been identified as Shubam Gupta, son of Sunil Gupta of Rehari Colony, driver Shatrugan, son of Thoru Ram of Marjali, conductor Sohan Dass, son of Sadru Ram of Bachyal, Jhiri and salesman Pawan Kumar, son of Kunj Lal of Mandi, district Samba.
CAPD officials were also involved in the racket and they fled from the spot after seeing police team, he said, adding that to know about the officials deputed on duty for distribution of kerosene oil, a letter has been sent to CAPD Department, so as to ascertain the identity of the officials involved in the racket.
A case under FIR number 183/13, under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities (EC) Act, 409/34 RPC has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Kulbir Handa, SP City Youghal Manhas and SSP Jammu Atul Goel.
