NEW DELHI, Feb 9: The Hrithik Roshan-starrer ‘Kaabil’, which recently became the first Bollywood film to release in theatres in Pakistan since the ban imposed on Indian films there, has opened to an encouraging response in the neighbouring country.
Trade sources said that ‘Kaabil’, which features Hrithik opposite Yami Gautam, has earned Rs 2.5 cr in five days of its release in Pakistan. ‘Kaabil’ was the first Indian film to release in the neighbouring country since the ban on Indian films in Pakistan after the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian army across Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
Directed by Sanjay Gupta, ‘Kaabil’ also features Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy in key roles.
However, Shahrukh Khan-starrer ‘Raees’, which released on the same day as ‘Kaabil’, has not released in Pakistan theatres as the Pakistan censor borad objected to come scenes in it. (UNI)
