Kabir Jayanti celebrated

JAMMU, June 24: All J&K Shri Sadguru Kabir Sabha celebrated 623rd Kabir Jayanti today at Chak Avtara, Bishnah.
Due to COVID-19 advisory and in view of guidelines issued by the administration, the gathering was restricted to observe social distancing and other parameters of COVID protocol.
President Kabir Sabha, F.C Bhagat while addressing the gathering said that Kabir Das was the first Indian saint who coordinated between different religions and gave a universal path to be followed by all.
He said no religion is required where there is truth as truth itself is a great religion.
“This day shall be celebrated as the beginning of social revolution in India because the philosophy of Kabir is based on equality amongst all,” he maintained adding that Kabir advised his followers to give up inhuman practices like feelings of upper and low categories.
The Sabha appealed to the public at large to celebrate the day at home for safety from the pandemic.
Prominent among those who attended the function and spoke on the occasion were Prof. Gharu Ram, Ex-MLA; G.R Bhagat, Prof. Ashok Bhagat, Vice President; Dr. Gurdass Ram, Des Raj Bhagat, Kuldeep Bhagat, BDC Chairman Bhalwal, Surinder Bhagat, BDC Chairman Marh, Manohar Lal, general secretary, Tarsem Lal, Thoru Ram, Sham Lal, Dr. Buti Ram, Dr. Karnail Singh, Ashwani Bhagat, block president; Sat Pal, secretary and Tirath Ram, district president Samba.
Meanwhile, Bhagat Mahasabha Block Bhalwal Committee also celebrated the Prakash Utsav of Kabir Ji at village Misriwala following all SOPs of COVID-19.
Kuldip Kumar Bhagat and Balbir Chand Bhagat, both BDC Chairpersons from Bhalwal and Marh Blocks respectively were chief guests.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, national vice president Bhagat Mahasabha and state president Bhagat Mahasabha, Mahinder Bhagat also participated in the programme. The speakers talked about the life and teachings of Sant Kabir Ji Maharaj, Sant Ravidass Ji Maharaj, Sant Nanak Dev Ji and others.
