LEH, July 31: Secretary for Tourism and Culture Department, Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan inspected and reviewed the status of ongoing tourism infrastructure development works at Khardung-la top, North-Pulu and South-Pulu.
At North-Pullu, the Secretary while taking stock of the construction of wayside amenity (Cafeteria cum PC complex) instructed the Executive Engineer, LDA to complete the remaining work within a month’s time and further directed to initiate the outsourcing process immediately so as to operationalize the wayside amenity for convenience of tourists and visitors. He further gave on the spot instructions to prepare DPR for landscaping, parking, water supply, compound walling and solar lighting so that the facility becomes a complete wayside amenity.
At Khardung-la he inspected the progress of work on the construction of view points at 2 locations towards North-Pulu and South-Pulu at the pass/top. He emphasized on the need to complete these works on priority while taking due care of quality and quantity parameters as per DPR.
Kacho while inspecting the ongoing work on the wayside amenity at South-Pulu showed concern at the slow pace of work and directed Director Tourism to immediately take up the matter with PWD Leh for immediate necessary action and handing over of the facility.
Director Tourism Department Kunzes Angmo, Executive Engineer, Tourism Development Authority Leh, Tsering Angchuk, OSD/Under Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department, Muhammad Ali Tak besides other concerned officers accompanied the Secretary during the tour.
