JAMMU, Sept 30: A grand “Kalash Yatra” was organized in Jammu this afternoon on the eve of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha.
The Yatra commenced from Hari Mandir, Rehari, Jammu and passed through various streets of adjoining areas and culminated back at Hari Mandir. Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is being organized by Akhil Bhartiya Dharam Prachar Sewa Samiti, Jammu.
Shrimad Bhagwat Kathakar, Phool Kumar Shastri, Bhupinder Shastri and Pardeep Kumar Shastri also participated and remained with the devotees in the Yatra.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma (organizer of Akhil Bhartiya Dharam Prachar Sewa Samiti, Jammu) informed that the Bhagwat Katha which is starting today will continue till October 7 at Hari Mandir, Rehari, Jammu. Hawan will be performed on daily basis from October 1 to 7 from 7 AM and Bhagwat Katha from 2 to 6 PM. On the last day of Katha i.e. October 7, a grand Sant Sammelan shall start at 11 AM, followed by Bhandara.
Sharma said that Pitra Paksha is a period in Hindu Calender when Hindus pay homage to their ancestors, especially through Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Path and offering food.
Among others who attended Kalash Yatra were Raman Sharma, Rajesh Verma, Raja Singh, Parshotam Sharma, Rohit Saini, Bishan Sharma, Ajay Kumar and Madan Mohan Gupta.
