KATHUA, May 10: The inhabitants of various villages from Kandi belt of Kathua staged a protest demonstration here today against the acute scarcity of drinking water faced by them.
The protesters said that the failure of PHE Department to maintain the water supply has put the people of the entire Kandi belt to many hardships in this hot Summer.
Earlier, various deputations of the people from the kandi area of the district also called on DC Kathua and other concerned authorities urging them to take immediate steps in bettering water supply by making the defunct tube wells functional.
