KATHUA, Mar 30: The National Conference today asked the workers to work unitedly to put diverse sections of people and regions of Jammu back on the track of development, progress and prosperity.
These sentiments were raised by the party functionaries of rural areas in a meeting which was organised under the chairmanship of District president Shyam Narain Mehta, wherein Party’s Provincial president, Rattan Lal Gupta was the chief guest along with Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Pardeep Bali, Vijay Lochan, Raj Kumar Sharma and others.
While addressing the gathering Rattan Lal Gupta said, “It was Sher-e-Kashmir, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who empowered people in real sense by giving them ‘Rights on Land’ and made education free for all and people of J&K will never forget his contributions.”
He called upon the cadres to establish grassroots contact with people and identify the problems of the people in their respective areas.
The skyrocketing inflation, unemployment and absence of welfare schemes have crippled our people, particularly in the Kandi belt,” Gupta said, adding that the Kandi and border areas were facing acute shortage of drinking water, electricity as well as health care.
