JAMMU, June 13: The villages –Kangrail and Deharan in Jammu tehsil has been reeling under complete darkness for the last three days as the feeding transformer damaged three days ago, which the Power Development Department (PDD) failed to repair or replace despite repeated requests and reminders by the people.
Moreover, these villages did not get any water supply from one week as the pumping motor is also out of order and the Public Health Engineering Department has failed to get it repaired.
The villagers alleged that they approached the concerned authorities of PDD several times but they got nothing except assurances and promises.
They also rued that the transformer installed in their area is not sufficient enough to cater to the power demand of their area. They said that even MLA had been apprised of the problem several times but nothing has been done. They demanded that water supply in the area should be immediately restored.
