Kapahi gets highest votes in Amar Singh Club polls

JAMMU, Apr 9: Anil Kapahi, Secretary Amar Singh Club, polled highest votes in the Amar Singh Club Executive Committee elections, result of which was declared today.
The elections for the 11 Executive Committee members of the Club were held today at Amar Singh Club with former Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima acting as the Returning Officer.
As per official figures available with the Excelsior, total 25,982 votes were polled in the elections.
While Kapahi polled highest 1802 votes in the Executive Committee members elections, others who were elected as the executive committee members of the club are Amit Mahajan who polled 1654 votes, Deepali Handa 1573, Sanjay Sethi 1568, Siddharth Mehta 1526, Naresh Kumar Gupta 1434, Er Gurpreet Chahal 1427, Dr Nandita Mehta 1407, Ritika Mahajan 1220, Prof Renu Nanda 1192 and Er Vikram Puri 1180.
Among other contestants, Sardar Daljeet Singh Raina polled 1114, Seerat Gupta 1076, Manjeet Nagpal 1055, Winnie Singh 1008, Er Rakesh Badyal 1003, Dheeraj Malhotra 910, Deepak Gupta 900, Er Samar Bali 890, Er Sisar Khajuria 773, Vinod Gandotra 639 and Varun Saraf 631.
Pertinently, the elected 11 members of the Executive Committee would elect a Secretary of the Club while four members would be nominated by the Government.
