Karblaie to head LAHDC Kargil today

JAMMU, Sept 15:  Congress leader Asgar Ali Karblaie is all set to be elected as Chairman of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC),  Kargil, which will be formally constituted tomorrow.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil Fida Hussain has convened meeting of newly elected Councilors tomorrow at 11.30 a.m at Conference Hall Baroo wherein election of the new Chairman will be held, sources informed the Excelsior.
For smooth conduct of election for leader of the Council, the ruling coalition partner National Conference and Congress have deputed the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohd Sagar, Minister for PHE Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Sharma and Minister for Haj Aquaf and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohd Sayeed as the observers.
As per the agreement reached out between the coalition partners, Congress will head the Kargil Council, elections of which were held on August 22.  Congress had emerged as the single largest party by bagging 10 out of 26 seats while National Conference got eight seats and the rest eight went to independent candidates.
All the newly elected Councilors as well as the nominated ones were administered oath today by Principal District and Session Judge Kargil Tahir Khursheed Raina.
