UDHAMPUR, Mar 22: The Army jawan, Sepoy Vijay Kumar, who was martyred during an avalanche in the Biamah area of Kargil sector on Mar 17, was accorded full military honours in a solemn wreath laying ceremony held at Leh today.
Senior Army officials and other ranks paid homage to the brave soul. After the wreath laying ceremony, the mortal remains of the martyr have been flown to New Delhi where the COAS will pay his homage by laying a wreath.
After the wreath laying ceremony at New Delhi, the mortal remains of the soldier will be flown to his native place, village Vallaramapuram of Thirunelvelli district of Tamil Nadu, where the funeral ceremony will be conducted with full military honours.
