JAMMU, Aug 31: Senior BJP leader and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward number 32, Satpaul Karlupia here today started construction work of boundary wall at a Cremation Ground in Pouni Chak area.
Speaking on the occasion, the Councilor said that the work was a long pending demand of the people of the area which has been fulfilled today.
He informed that apart from this, other works at the Cremation Ground will also be taken up soon on which a total amount of Rs. 20 lakh will be spent.
Karlupia said that condition of the Cremation Ground was not up to the mark and many people had complained about the same.
“So, keeping in view the interests of public and sanctity of the place for the society, the work has been taken up,” he maintained adding: “Steps are being constantly taken for the development and betterment of the Ward.”
The JMC Councillor also said that promises made with people are being fulfilled and assured to leave no stone unturned for converting the Ward into a developed one.
BJP leader, Lovkesh Gondi; Booth president, Shemsher Singh; Deepak Sharma, Anil Rakwal, Pandit Dwarka Nath, Sudarshan, Monu, Joginder Pal, Bishan, Kamal, Lamberdar Rattan Lal Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
