JAMMU, Nov 13: President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Tariq Hameed Karra, today chaired a meeting of frontal organisations of the Congress Party and called upon countering BJP’s ‘misleading’ narrative.
The meeting focused on enhancing the grassroots strength of these organisations, which are critical in raising awareness and mobilising support across various communities, castes, and sections of society. During the meeting, leaders from various Congress cells presented valuable suggestions aimed at fortifying the party’s outreach.
Karra emphasised the importance of fostering a deep commitment and conviction to the Congress ideology in order to effectively counter the BJP’s misleading and divisive narratives. He highlighted that the BJP, as a well-oiled machine of false propaganda, poses a significant challenge, but with a collective and scientific approach, the Congress Party can reach out to the masses and offer a truthful, inclusive alternative.
After attentively listening to the suggestions from the Chairpersons of all cells, Karra shared strategic insights on how the party can utilise modern tools and methodologies to counter BJP’s falsehoods and strengthen its presence at the grassroots level.
As the meeting concluded, Karra reminded everyone that tomorrow marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, celebrated across the nation as Children’s Day. He underscored that the Congress Party has always upheld Nehru’s ideals and principles, which form the very foundation of our democracy. Karra pointed out that forces aligned with the BJP are constantly working to dismantle Nehruvian ideals and undermine the inclusive, secular vision that Nehru stood for.
“It is our responsibility,” Karra stated, “to resist these regressive efforts and to keep Nehru’s vision alive, not only as a tribute to his legacy but for the future of our democracy itself.” He affirmed that protecting these principles, which Nehru dedicated his life to, is a duty the Congress Party proudly upholds.
The meeting was attended by Working Presidents PCC Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla, senior leaders Gurmukh Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Ved Mahajan, Yogesh Sawhney, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Jahangir Mir, Adv K K Pangotra , T S Tony, Namarta Sharma, Zahida Khan, Neeraj Gupta, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Ajay Lakhotra, Ch Hussain Ali Wafa, Madan Lal Chalotra, Jatin Raina, Hira Lal Pandita, Sajjad Tariq, Latish Sharma and others.
