SRINAGAR, Dec 9: People’s Democratic Party candidate for Srinagar-Budgam Parliamentary constituency, Tariq Hamid Karra, today protested against the Coalition Government on International anti-Corruption Day.
Karra held the ruling National Conference responsible for the growing corruption in the State.
Karra, accompanied by a dozen supporters, said the anti-Corruption Day is being celebrated today and the theme for this year is ‘Zero Corruption-100 percent Development’, but, he claimed, in Jammu and Kashmir it had no relevance as corruption is at its peak and is being facilitated by the Government.
“Scores of scams have surfaced during the present regime including, cricket scam, BOPEE scam, PM’s scholarship scam, but no action has been taken against the corrupt officials,” Karra said, while addressing his supporters at Regal Chowk here.
Karra claimed NC leaders are hand in glove with the corrupt officials for their personal gains and has been re-appointing them after retirement.
“From Class-IV jobs to MBBS seats, everything has been put on sale here. Retired deadwood officials have been re-employed and each of them is being paid over one lakh as salary per month, while our unemployed youth are craving for employment,” he said.
