KISHTWAR, Dec 28: Newly elected BJP MLA from Kishtwar, Sunil Sharma today said that construction of Gulabgarh-Machail road and early start of work on Karthie power project would be the top priority of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing massive public rallies at Gulabgarh and Atholi after paying obeisance at Machail temple in remote Padder village of Kishtwar, Mr Sharma said, “Padder area remained underdeveloped during National Conference tenure”, adding it was during Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government that the area witnessed some development.
“I will left no stone unturned for the development of the area. Neither I nor BJP Government will disappoint the people of Padder and exploration of Padder sapphire mines, which will create job opportunities for the local unemployed youths, is also on the party agenda”, he further said.
He said that successive Governments robbed the precious sapphire mines and used the money for personal benefits while the villages surrounding these mines continued to suffer in terms of road, education, health facility and communication etc.
He said that Gulabgarh-Himachal Pradesh road will also be upgraded in next few years, while the work on other local road links will be expedited. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured all possible help for the overall development of Kishtwar district.
Stating that tackling problem of unemployment is the key challenge for the BJP leadership of the State, Mr Sharma said that work on 450 MW Karthie I and II will be taken up during next six months and local unemployed youth would be given priority.
He said that Kishtwar-Batote and Kishtwar-Gulabgarh roads are the two important lifelines for the people of the constituency and both these roads would be taken care of. He assured that Machail Yatra and Padder will be brought on world tourist map so that the local people could avail the maximum benefits from various tourism related schemes.
He said that Degree College for Padder announced by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh early this year will start functioning shortly.
