SRINAGAR, Nov 26: The Karvan-e-Aman bus operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) was suspended today in view of the ‘ Muharram’, martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Muhammad, and his companions.
Officials said here today after India and Pakistan agreed, the bus run was suspended in view of the Muharram.
This is the fifth time during 2012, the bus service was  suspended.
On January 3 and 9 the bus run was suspended due to landslides and heavy snowfall across the Line of Control (LoC) while on August 20 it was Eid-ul-Fitr and on October 29 Eid-ul-Azha.
The Karvan-e-Aman bus, started on April 7,2005 after both India and Pakistan agreed to allow travel of permanent residents on both sides of the LoC on permits instead of International passports, has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other. (UNI)
