SRINAGAR: Around 15.64 per cent votes were polled till 1100 hrs on Tuesday in 25 constituencies during the second phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections in Kashmir valley amid tight security arrangements.
“Kashmir division has polling percentage of 15.64 per cent till 1100 hrs in the second phase of DDC election,” an official spokesperson said.
He said the highest votes were polled in Pulwama with 39.89 per cent while the lowest voter turnout was recorded in Pulwama with 3.95 per cent.
“Kupwara has voting percentage of 16 per cent, Baramulla 14.45 per cent, Ganderbal 15.65 per cent, Srinagar 18.26 per cent, Budgam 25.29 per cent, Shopian 5.67 per cent, Kulgam 14.37 per cent and Anantnag 15.56 per cent upto 1100 hrs.
He said large number of people have come out to cast their votes during second phase of District Development Council Elections. “Long queues can be seen despite of severe cold conditions in Kashmir Division and hilly areas of Jammu Division,” he added.
