RAMNAGAR, Apr 1: BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh today alleged that Government had been tacitly diverting funds away from this region to appease Kashmir-centric vote bank. This was evident from the poor condition of roads, absence of basic amenities, lack of health facility and rising unemployment among youth, he added.
He was addressing a series of road-side election meetings at Latti, Jakhed, Dudu, Kirchi, Chivgali, Basantgarh, Gandtop, Shapari, Katha, Kulwanta and other places on the way.
Referring to the scenic beauty of the area, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, the Kashmir- centric Government has deliberately ignored the prospect of developing the tourist potential of the spots in this vicinity. He described this as a glaring instance of “cultural” discrimination due to Kashmir-centric approach of Government, The monuments and scenic spots of the area richly deserve to be developed as tourist spots, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, it is a strange contradiction that optimum implementation of various central schemes could not be carried out even though the constituency has been represented in the Lok Sabha by ruling Congress Party  all these years and the Congress candidate for this  has been a Congress Minister in the Central Cabinet for the last over 30 years.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP will strive for justice and due attention for the region. He once again reiterated the demand for an exclusive package for hill areas.
Dr Jitendra Singh regretted poor state of roads in the area and said these are the issues expected to be taken with the Union Government by the local MP from here but unfortunately this has not happened so far.
He appealed for a vote for BJP so that when Narendra  Modi becomes the PM, these long standing demands of the area could be addressed.
Dr Singh said there is a total wave of Modi and BJP in Jammu and Ladakh regions with people from all communities firm in their resolve to vote for party to install Mr Modi as next PM of the country to rid it from the present mess, price rise, corruption, unemployment and poverty and take it forward on the path of development so that India will emerge as Vishav Guru in next one decade.
