SRINAGAR : Hundreds of vehicles today left Srinagar and other parts of the valley to Jammu on highway, which connects the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.
No vehicle will be allowed from Jammu, officials said. The highway is open for only one-way traffic to avoid traffic jam and accidents.
However, due to slippery road conditions because of fresh snowfall this morning, the traffic movement was delayed by few hours.
Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers and trucks with fruits besides empty oil tankers and trucks have now started their journey to Jammu. The authorities have decided to allow only one-way traffic on the highway till further improvement in the weather and road conditions.
