Srinagar, Aug 13: Chief Justice of the High Court N Kotiswar Singh today said that Kashmir can no longer be seen as a troubled place.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the rally, he said that Kashmir cannot be seen anymore as a troubled place and that more stability and development will come to this place with peace.
The Chief Justice who participated in a Tiranga Rally at Lal Chowk said that the response of people to the rally shows Kashmir is back to normalcy and the place deserves the best.
The CJ said that Kashmir is a beautiful place, the people here are very charming.
“We have seen that tourist footfall has increased and has been highest since decades, which shows that people want to come and see this place,” he said.
“I feel that peace is prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, and with this kind of activity going on here is an indication of a much better future for this place.”
He also said that people feel proud to participate in the Tiranga Rally and being part of the Independence Day celebrations here.
He also remembered the valour of those who dreamt of freeing India from the colonial rule. He expressed profound pride in the nation’s achievements, highlighting the importance of upholding justice and equality.
The Chief Justice also reaffirmed the judiciary’s dedication in safeguarding the rights of every citizen.
The rally was organised by the J&K Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) in association with District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar.
The ‘Tiranga Rally’ was flagged off by Chief Justice from Srinagar High Court and culminated at Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk.
The Chief Justice was accompanied by Registrar General, Shahzad Azeem; Principal Secretary, M K Sharma; PDJ (Chairman DLSA), Srinagar, Jawad Ahmad and other members of the Registry as well as District Judiciary, Srinagar.
The JKLSA, in tandem with the DLSA, Srinagar also extended its gratitude to all the participants, supporters and collaborators who contributed to the resounding success of this historical event.
