Kashmir politics badly needs an alternative: Khanna

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Nov 24: Commenting on the recent developments in the political scenario in Jammu & Kashmir, BJP national vice-president & J&K Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna, today said that the time has come when an alternative political dispensation should be established in the State, which is nationalist and pro-democratic in true sense.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that the people of the State have lost faith in the politics of opportunism and self interests of Congress and regional parties like NC and PDP and are yearning for a better and reliable alternative. These parties stand exposed before the people due to their ugly drama after the dissolution of the State Assembly by the Governor. Behind the curtain motive of these parties was to isolate and belittle mandate of the people of a particular region, which failed due to the timely action of the Governor, who played a vital role in saving the democracy from being murdered and it need to be appreciated, he added.
The State Prabhari said that these parties had been taking the people of the State for granted for too long now as they were having a misconception that Kashmir was their fiefdom and expected that it should run as per their whims and writ.
“People across the country have been continuously rejecting Congress after concluding that BJP was the most suitable political party to meet their aspirations”, Khanna said and added that in Jammu and Kashmir the people here too have very well realized that the dual faces of Congress, NC and PDP, which thrives of opportunistic politics need to be replaced with some other alternative and that such a dispensation seems to be emerging fast in the State.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that going for polls or issuing boycott dictates / sitting in opposition or forming government, reflects dual politics of NC, PDP and Congress but these parties forget that finally it is the wish of the people which prevails over the dynastic and opportunist politics.
