JAMMU, Jan 24: The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Kashmiri Displaced People (KDP) Wing has demanded permanent rehabilitation in the Valley.
In a joint statement issued by KDP Wing leaders of DPAP (J&K) through Sanjay Dhar President, Piaray Lal Pandita Chairman and Raj Kumar Ticku General Secretary have put forth several demands to the Government of India as well to the Government of J&K-UT for immediate consideration.
As per the statement the demanded concrete resettlement rehabilitation policy for Kashmiri Hindu’s living in exile, special police recruitment of two battalions for youth living in exile having low education, special recruitment for highly educated youth of Kashmiri Displaced People with relaxation in norms, age and on the basis of reservation, providing of stipend to unemployed youth, compensation to traders, loss of thirty four years property with a one-time ex-gratia to settle in Valley besides release of balance assessed ex-gratia of gutted houses, orchards and agricultural land.
Apart from that they have also demanded benefits of all Central Government sponsored schemes, Transit Accommodation to PM Package employees in one go with merger of PM Package employees at par with UT-Government employees, reservation of one seat in Panchayat, Municipalities, Local Bodies, Block Development Councils including reservation of two Assembly and two Parliamentary seats instead of nominated reservations.
They also said till resettlement rehabilitation policy is worked out, the worst position of Displaced People is required to be improved with enhancement of monthly cash assistance to Rs 30000 per month per family.
