Kashmiri Khatri Maha Sabha highlights migrants demands

JAMMU, May 3: A joint meeting of Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha , Kashmiri Khatri Yuvak Sabha and Displaced Kashmiri unemployed youth was held at Jagti township under the chairmanship of its president Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan today in which various demands of Kashmir Khatri migrant community were discussed.
The meeting demanded immediate enhancement of cash relief to Rs 20,000 per month, restoration of migrants agriculture land, houses, orchards, shops, SSI units, cowsheds, Kothar, other sheds, kitchen, garden and other properties which were encroached by anti-social elements,  payment of compensation and insurance claims to the business community among migrants who have suffered losses due to 27 year long turmoil,  timely distribution of ration slips and relief, posting of staff in Jagti hospital, providing of ambulances and other facilities to the hospital, plugging of leakages in quarters and renovation of quarters at Jagti.
The meeting expressed concern over the delay in implementation of PM employment package for migrant youth and said just appointment of 2000 youth out of 6000 job package in last nine years is totally an eye wash and mockery on the name of package. It said a large number of youth became over aged over these eight years. It demanded reservation of jobs for migrant youth in Central and State Government Departments by announcing 25,000 jobs in Government Departments, semi Government Departments as well as public and private companies from class fourth to higher posts.
The meeting demanded that benefits of all Central Government and State Government schemes be given to migrants also. Besides the migrant traders be provided soft loans and allotment of shops in favour of those deserving persons who were already running their business  units in different camps.
