JAMMU, Feb 20: Outrightly rejecting the reports that Kashmiris are being threatened outside the Valley in the aftermath of Pulwama terrorist attack, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh today accused the Kashmir mainstream parties of unnecessarily creating perception to communalise the situation eyeing the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, today during which 14 ambulances were donated to the various areas of his Kathua, Udhampur, Doda Parliamentary constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh made a strong dig at the Kashmir Centric parties for their uncalled for and provocative statements. He said “those who are accusing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of divisive politics are themselves communalizing the situation including the Pul-wama gruesome attack of terrorists on the eve of elections.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while reiterating that the war against the terrorism should be fought unitedly said that some people are trying to create an impression that the war is directed against a particular community which is not based on facts. “The war is against the terrorism and its perpetrators and not against any particular religion especially Kashmiri Muslims”, he added.
He said it is unfortunate that the Kashmir centric leaders are creating an impression that anti terrorism measures are against any particular community including Muslims.
The Union Minister, while terming the reports of threat on Kashmiris as baseless, said that such perception is being created by some leaders of Kashmir just to divide the people. “It is the duty of us all to put the record straight and isolate such forces who try to create a wedge among the communities through the irresponsible statements”, he added.
In response to a question regarding negative role played by social media in the aftermath on the Pulwama attack, the Union Minister said whenever social media tries to instigate people and vitiate the situation by spreading rumors, the concerned agencies should take the cognizance of the same and act against the social media.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that those mainstream Kashmiri leaders who are being provided CRPF security should discharge their duty and pay homage to Pulwama martyrs instead of issuing philosophical statements and indulging in selective condemnation of violence.
In response to another question regarding the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, Dr Jitendra Singh said that it is not feasible for him to react over the same as we should have full faith in Government of India and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who will take every action keeping the aspirations of the countrymen in view.
The Union Minister said that the resentment in Jammu against the terror attack in Pulwama on brave hearts of the country was natural as no civilized society will allow and tolerate such attacks. He, however, said that people in Jammu region showed lot of restraint and maintained age old peace and brotherhood.
Earlier, Dr Jitendra Singh donated 14 ambulances out of MP Local Area Development Fund for various areas of his Constituency. He said six more ambulances will come soon. The MP paid over Rs five crore from his MPLAD fund for purchase of these ambulances.
The Union Minister said that it was the last installment of his MPLAD Fund and he decided to spent it in a productive way and purchased the ambulances on the increasing demand of the people in different parts of his constituency especially border areas.
He said out of them 13 are Advanced Life Support Ambulances called Critical Care Ambulances while seven are Shav Ambulances. He expressed the hope that the ambulances will prove useful for people and the authorities will also make best use of them.
He said these ambulances will be available in every district and some social organisations as well as NGOs services will also be utilized for the purpose.
