JAMMU, Jan 18: J&K BJP spokesperson, Y.V Sharma has said that the so called Kashmiri leaders should stop befooling people by issuing totally false, irresponsible and highly provocative statements at a time when conditions in J&K are fast returning to normalcy and the region is witnessing an era of unprecedented developments in almost every sphere of activity.
In a handout Sharma reacted to a recent statement by Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister and National Conference vice president claiming that militancy is on rise despite no Article 370 and BJP befools the country.
Sharma reminded Omar of conditions prevailing in J&K before the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A.
He asked him if he has forgotten the days of frequent Hartals, protests, stone pelting and unprovoked firing by militants in broad daylight.
The BJP leader also said that India is determined to root out militancy once and for all with its full power and determination.
He flayed Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti for frequently demanding parleys with Pakistan to solve the Kashmir problem.
