Kashmiri migrants demand release of flour quota

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 8: Kashmiri migrants expressed grave concern over denial of flour quota to them since March this year and urged the authorities to release the same without further delay.
In a joint statement issued here, today, Sunil Pandit and Vijay Koul the social activists from Jagti township said that the migrants dependent on cash doles from Government are unable to purchase the flour from market on exorbitant rates. They said that despite repeated pleas to the authorities they failed to restore the flour quota to migrant relief holders and termed withholding of the same a grave injustice.
Pandita and Koul said that those migrants who are suffering from diabetes are being advised by doctors to avoid eating rice but due to stopping of the flour quota they are not in a position to purchase the same from open market.
In a joint appeal to concerned authorities they urged them to look into the problem and get the flour quota for the migrants released without further delay.
